With us, you will learn economic expertise and data science. Data science can be used to gain economically valuable insights from data. Modern AI makes learning data science easier and its application faster and more enjoyable. Data science is a decisive advantage for graduates of the degree programme on the job market. In the degree programme, we start from scratch in Data Science, no prior knowledge is necessary. In economics, they learn the most important and practical insights from business administration and economics. In the degree programme, we learn economics and data science using the practical application of mobility and transport. This is where human behaviour (psychology) and economic thinking meet spatial and temporal data. This enables you to work successfully in project management and leadership positions in any industry.

Field of activity

The first graduates of the (relatively new) degree programme are working for consulting firms, cities, cantons, start-ups, mobility offices, aviation and railway companies.

Admission
- Vocational baccalaureate (all specialisations)
- Secondary school leaving certificate
(direct entry without internship with practice-integrated Bachelor's degree PiBS)
- Specialised baccalaureate
- Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education
(crediting > 1 semester)

Commencement of studies

The 2025/26 academic year begins on 8 September 2025 with a compulsory introductory week. The official start of the semester is on 15 Septembre 2025 (calendar week 38).

With a Bachelor's degree in Mobility, Data Science and Economics, you have access to various Master's programmes at colleges and universities in Switzerland and abroad. The following Master's programmes are open to you at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts:

The admission requirements vary slightly depending on the degree programme and specialisation. If you are interested, please contact the relevant programme director in good time so that the transition to the Master's degree programme can be planned individually and as optimally as possible (topic of Bachelor's thesis, electives, etc.).

Studying in Lucerne right by the railway station

The study location is Lucerne. Both the existing building (Zentralstrasse 9) and the new building (from spring 2026) are located directly at Lucerne railway station. The teaching times are coordinated with the train timetables.
