Biography
Philipp Haslbauer is a software developer, data scientist and artist with a passion for creative, intelligent and interactive systems. He has been working at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts as part of the Immersive Realities Research Lab since 2023. His work encompasses generative AI systems, novel methods for 3D reconstruction and interactive AI avatars.
Haslbauer has been working as a software developer since 2017, focusing on artificial intelligence. In 2021, he shifted his focus to the creative and artistic application of generative AI. In 2024, as part of his research at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and as his Master's thesis ("Prototype of a Conversational Agent for Spiritual Consultation"), he created the project Deus in machina, in which an AI-supported avatar in the form of Jesus Christ welcomed visitors in a confessional.
