Opportunities for cooperation Work with us

We want our students to gain as much practical experience as possible during their studies. That is why we are happy to work toward this goal with our industry partners. Do not hesitate to contact us!

Do you work for a company or start-up and ...

  • … have a project idea?
  • … have a topic that needs exploring?

Do you work in a museum or in the event industry and …

  • … are currently planning an exhibition or other event?

How about developing it with the help of our students?

We offer several opportunities for cooperation:

Submit a topic for our CreaLabs (project modules)

Our curriculum is very practice-oriented. In the “apply” phase, our students attend CreaLabs (project modules), where they work on different tasks from various subject areas.

more
  • CreaLab Immersive narratives and interactive storytelling
  • CreaLab Human-centered design
  • CreaLab Design and development of digital games
  • CreaLab Augmented reality
  • CreaLab Virtual reality
  • CreaLab Serious/applied games
  • CreaLab Art Installations/projections
  • CreaLab Surprise

The CreaLabs take place in the spring semester, with students typically working about 90 or 180 hours on a given task. Organized in groups, they develop topics and questions, generate new approaches and ideas, or analyze specific problems and develop solutions for them. Maybe together with you?

Submit a topic for our ImTech Competition

In the ImTech Competition, students usually work in pairs.

more

The module is delivered in the fall semester, with a workload of at least 180 hours per student. Thanks to this generous allocation of time, students can work on more complex tasks within the field of immersive technologies.

Submit a topic for a bachelor's thesis

In the bachelor's thesis, each student works on a specific question from the field of immersive technologies.

more

Like the ImTech Competition, it is ideal for more complex tasks and questions, though the bachelor’s thesis has a stronger focus on scientific work. The module takes place in the spring semester, with a workload of at least 180 hours per candidate.

Include student work in your exhibition, event, trade fair, or conference

If you are organizing an exhibition, an event, a trade fair or a conference that might benefit from the perspective of students and young people and/or offer an opportunity to show their work, we are also open to queries.

Portrait Simon Boss

"As a consultant on digitalization, our clients are increasingly asking for services in the field of immersive technologies. The new offer meets a current need of ours as an IT company for well-trained specialists in these rapidly growing and sought-after subject areas. We welcome the international orientation of the program, which meets our expectations of a modern education, as it promotes collaboration and broadens the horizons of the students. Accordingly, we could already use graduates of the BSc Immersive Technologies in projects today." - Simon Boss, Chairman of the board, Boss Info AG

"Information transfer and storytelling are no longer tied to the rectangle of a screen or paper, but they step out of it into the space itself. We are at an exciting juncture where the vocabulary for immersive media is taking shape. The human being no longer looks at an event from the outside but enters a dialogue with it and becomes part of it. Anyone who is now involved in this area has the unique opportunity to participate in the formulation of this vocabulary." - Anna Schnorf, Founder Cyber Funk Studio

"The introduction of the new bachelor's degree in immersive technologies at HSLU is an important step towards combating the pressing shortage of skilled workers and providing targeted training in this field, which has been lacking until now. The degree program enables us not only to meet the demand for qualified specialists, but also to train and develop our own employees in a targeted manner. Overall, the new BSc at HSLU represents an important investment in the future of the industry. We look forward to working with HSLU, students and future graduates to continue shaping the world of immersive technologies together." - Joe Scheidegger, XR-Lead XR at SBB

"Medical Extended Reality in education but also in clinical application is on the rise in medicine. For the evidence-based application but also research and further development of Medical XR, we need broadly trained specialists who bring not only technical skills but also a broad basic understanding of digital projects. Therefore, congratulations on this exciting important new educational offer!" - Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Sauter, Associate Professor Emergency Telemedicine at Inselspital Bern
