Yousra Sidqi holds a MSc in systems theory (2016) and a PhD in electrical engineering (2019) from the University of Grenoble Alps.
Since June 2021, she is working as a senior researcher at the institute of electrical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Lucerne.
Her main interests are the optimization of energy usage and empowering citizens in the decision making process regarding energy, and electricity in particular. She explores new ways of planning and designing energy systems.
She joined the Institute of Sustainable Energy at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland in October 2019 and worked as post doctoral researcher on flexibility for distribution power grids.
In 2020, she was awarded the Think Smartgrids best thesis award for her contribution to research on smart grids.
Since 2020, she is a member of the management group of the SATW SwissTecLadies Network , where she defends gender equality in STEM fields.
