The English-language degree program trains students to become qualified professionals in an international, interdisciplinary and intercultural environment. Over the course of the degree program, students will acquire the skills to launch, supervise, actively participate in and successfully complete challenging IT projects in complex situations while taking into consideration cultural differences. As part of the degree program, students will spend two semesters studying abroad, which will support them to acquire the requisite skills. Due to a progressing globalization and hence an increasing level of international collaborations, this course will provide you with promising future career prospects.

1. Modules

You are quite free to choose the modules during your exchange semesters in order to make up your individual focus.

In the third and sixth semester, you can choose to major in Technology or Business.

5. Semesters abroad

Intercultural skills

You will spend two semesters abroad – the third semester at a partner school in an Anglo-Saxon culture and the sixth semester at a partner school embedded in an Asian culture – in order to gain the intercultural skills and foreign language skills necessary to be able work for an international company.

Modern infrastructure

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers various labs with state-of-the-art infrastructure where you can complete your project work. In fall 2019, the Lucerne School of Information Technology will move to a new campus with benchmark infrastructure.

Admission
  • You must provide evidence of English proficiency corresponding to at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference, if you are a non-native speaker of English. Such evidence must be available by the end of July at the latest. Academic IELTS or TOEFL are recommended language certificates as these certificates are often a prerequisite for acceptance by host institutions. Cambridge First or Advanced are not known / accepted outside of Europe.
  • Commercial or technical vocational training with a vocational baccalaureate, or
  • Baccalaureate (with an interest in or flair for IT) with at least one year of qualified professional experience in an IT- or business-related area, or
  • Specialized baccalaureate (specializing in IT or Business) with at least one year of qualified professional experience in an IT- or business-related area, or
  • Graduate of an international school with at least one year of qualified professional experience in an IT- or business-related area, or
  • Graduate with a diploma (specializing in Business or Technology) from a professional college, or
  • Equivalent foreign qualifications with at least one year of qualified professional experience in an IT- or business-related area
