Infrastructure  for student projects

To work on their projects, students have a range of facilities at their disposal, including the Networking Lab, a security and micro computer infrastructure and the AR/VR Lab with state-of-the-art hardware and developer workstations.

Infrastruktur Informatik GPU Hub

GPUHub

Our students have free access to the GPUHub , where we have 64 A16 GPUs with 16 GB VRAM (= GPU memory) each. They are available to the students to be used interactively during classes. It is planned to add 8x L40s GPUs with 48 GB VRAM to the GPUHub for theses and jobs with higher resource requirements.

Robotics Lab

Our robotics lab is dedicated to exploring and innovating across various domains, including Industrial Robots, Mobile Robots, Social & Humanoid Robots, and Drones (planned for future research). We house cutting-edge systems like Pepper, a 28kg semi-humanoid robot with multiple sensors, uses its omnidirectional base to navigate complex environments while understanding and displaying emotions. The compact Go1 legged robot (12kg, payload up to 5kg) excels in tasks like industrial tunnel inspection. We also utilize Boston Dynamics’ Spot, a 32.7kg legged robot equipped with 360° sensors for environmental perception up to 4m, capable of carrying additional payloads. Check our homepage if you are interested to know more about it.

Networking Lab

The Networking Lab is Cisco and Huaweo certified and offering a varied and state-of-the-art infrastructure for hands-on experimentation in the area of networks and services. The Lab represents the most common infrastructures in the business world. The training focuses on the basic network components as well as on basis and cloud services.

Infrastruktur Werkstatt

Workshops and Maker Space

The workshops and Maker Spaces at the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology are located in House A at Suurstoffi 1 on the Zug-Rotkreuz campus. The Hi-tech workshops are open to students and employees alike. A competence center for prototype construction and digital fabrication, the rooms are equipped with a hybrid infrastructure.
