Tele 1 «unterwegs» in Horw

Tele1 war auf dem Campus Horw zu Gast und hat sich über das iHomeLab - Forschungszentrum für Gebäudeintelligenz informiert. Der Leiter Andrew Paice versucht den Reporter zu einem physiotherapeutischen Ballspiel mit VR-Brille zu motivieren. Die Tele-Therapie spornt mit Hilfe von Gamification Patientinnen und Patienten nach der Reha an, buchstäblich am Ball zu bleiben mit ihren Übungen.

The ‘Nachrichten’ programme on the regional channel ‘Tele 1’ broadcasts an article on our ‘Recovery Fun’ project, which has developed a tele-rehabilitation solution using virtual reality. The classic Thera rubber band and lifting weights, which were part of physiotherapy at home, are now facing competition. Today, it's VR glasses and playful exercises where the therapist can switch on live to provide support if required. The fun factor plays a central role here.

The iHomeLab team develops systems to reduce energy consumption in buildings. For example, to show the people with a graphical illustration of the energy consumption of an apartment where the energy guzzlers are. Thereby, the power consumption can be reduced.

Sensor & Health Technologies

The sensor technology team researches photonic, optical and other sensor technologies and combines them with artificial intelligence to create sensor systems for the recognition and measurement of physical, chemical and biomedical features. This technology leads to greater accuracy in object recognition and material detection and allows novel applications in factory automation, personalised health, smart health solutions and digital health.
