Robin Buri and Xiaojiao Xie honored with the «SFP-Award for Excellence in Real Estate»!

This year, the Foundation Prize was presented to Xiaojiao Xie and Robin Buri during a dignified and festive ceremony. The students received the coveted glass sculpture and a Foundation Prize of CHF 2,000 each on 25 September 2023. Since 2018, the award has been presented jointly by the Swiss Finance & Property Group and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Xiaojiao Xie has achieved impressive success in her academic and professional career. In her Master’s thesis, ‘Megatrends and the Future of the Swiss Housing Market: Implications for Developers and Investors’, she analysed the impact of megatrends on the Swiss property market. In doing so, she identified five key megatrends and emphasised the need for adaptable living spaces, specialised housing and consideration of the lifestyle preferences of Gen Z and millennials.

Her academic career includes a Master’s degree in Real Estate Studies from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where she received awards for the best Master’s thesis and outstanding academic achievement.

Xiaojiao Xie also has an impressive professional background, including roles at companies such as Johnson & Johnson, SIG Combibloc, ICARE Group SA and Innovation Atelier SA. She currently works as a Senior Consultant in Urban Development at Nüesch Development AG.

Her expertise in real estate studies and her strategic thinking will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the industry. We can look forward to her future successes with great anticipation, as she will undoubtedly continue to achieve outstanding results.

Robin Buri deserves recognition for his impressive academic and professional career. In his Master’s thesis, ‘Evaluating Bubble Risks: A Fundamental Value Analysis of State-Level Housing Markets in the United States’, he developed an innovative model for assessing property prices in the US.

Robin Buri obtained a Master of Science in Real Estate from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) between September 2021 and July 2023, and a further Master’s degree in International Banking and Finance from Lingnan University. His Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management at HSLU, completed between 2018 and 2021, laid the foundation for his academic journey. In addition, he gained valuable professional experience as a co-founder of Beef60 and as a part-time assistant at WERTLABOR GmbH from August 2020 to September 2021.

Robin Buri demonstrates impressive commitment and promising potential in the fields of property and finance. His future contributions to the academic and professional worlds are eagerly anticipated, as he will undoubtedly continue to achieve outstanding results.

The MSc in Real Estate at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts trains future leaders in the property sector. Over the course of four semesters, the programme equips students with practical and academically sound knowledge of the real estate industry.
