Core Modules

The Core Modules are offered every semester.

Management Core Modules

The Management Core Modules – Digital Customer Management, Strategic Network & Ecosystem Management and Organisational Transformation & Change – deepen your understanding of business. They provide valuable tools and methods for any future management position.

more
  • Current challenges in the field of management are addressed and solutions created using tried-and-tested management concepts.
  • Group projects and management simulations give students an introduction to working with current corporate mandates.
  • Block weeks give students the opportunity for experiential learning in teams in addition to theoretical learning during the semester.

Research Methods Core Modules

The Research Methods Foundation Modules give you the tools you require to take on and answer current questions from the world of business with the right research methods.

more
  • Research methods are the foundation for clear and strategic analyses of practical questions and formulating recommendations for action.
  • The combination of research methods and current questions from the world of business is key.
  • The content builds on that acquired during your bachelor’s degree.
  • Subject areas in the Foundation Modules: research theory and ethics, qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Master's thesis

The Master’s thesis is a central component of the programme’s academic success. It brings together the economic understanding acquired during the course of study, the insights gained from the chosen major and the applied research methods, and allows these to be explored in greater depth. The topic of the Master’s thesis is usually defined independently and is based on a research question with strong practical relevance or academic value.

The thesis is often carried out in cooperation with an external organisation, enabling the solutions developed to be implemented directly in practice. Alternatively, it is also possible to complete a Master’s thesis without an external client, for example in the form of a comprehensive industry review or a more theory-oriented project with a strong academic focus.

  • The content of the pre-master’s modules includes management, microeconomics and macroeconomics, financial management and research skills.
  • The pre-master’s modules are usually completed during the first two semesters of the master’s programme.
  • The pre-master's modules are taught in English.
