What we do in education and training Human-Tech Collaboration Lab

We integrate education and training directly into our projects and act as a broker between students, organizations, and research institutions. This allows ideas to be tested and further developed easily and quickly in student research groups.

Students in the Human-Tech Collaboration Lab

The Lab serves as an open research space for students who want to explore the future of work, digital transformation, and organizational change. We promote academic excellence, practical relevance, and public visibility of student work.

1. Student Research Paper Series & Research Award

Selected bachelor's and master's theses are published in the HTC-Lab Student Research Paper Series. Publication is curated with editorial support from the Lab..

Annually, we award a Research Award (CHF 500) – initially sponsored by the CC UFP, and in the future by corporate partners. In addition, we conduct interviews with award-winning students about their research process; selected contributions are published as AI-powered podcasts.

Goal: To develop a strong academic profile, increase visibility, and facilitate early integration into the academic discourse.

2. Conference Support for Students

The Lab supports students in submitting and presenting their work at national and international conferences.

3. Future of Work Student Challenge Pool

Practice partners contribute specific questions on the future of work, AI, governance, or organizational transformation.

Students in the MSc Business Administration (Major PMO), MSc Business Psychology, BSc Business Administration, Major HRM and BSc Business Psychology Major AOP address these topics as part of project or final theses. The Lab curates the topics, provides scientific support for the projects, and ensures a reflective integration of practical issues into social science theory.

Goal: To connect research, teaching and organizational practice.

4. Lab Dialoge

Each quarter, a new discussion format addresses current topics such as AI and Labor relations, DAOs, or algorithmic leadership.

A brief presentation from the Lab is supplemented by student perspectives and moderated discussions. The Lab Dialogues can be designed and organized by students; 3 ECTS credits are avaiLable for participation in this project. Faculty members from the Lab provide guidance.

Goal: Critical engagement, discourse skills, and co-creation of the Lab profile.
