Overview
A self-service application will accelerate patient recovery while reducing the total cost of rehabilitating the patient.
Problem
The need for a tool to enable patients practice at home is clear to everyone working with speech-impaired patients. Home training is an important pillar in the therapy of stroke patients, both for physical and speech impairment. Unfortunately, all available software products lack any kind of interactivity with the patient.
The Solution
However, patient interactivity is a critical driver of motivation, compliance and success. Therefore our goal is to develop a new technology, Axentless Speech Rehabilitation System (ASRS) that observes the patient in real time, provides immediate feedback and delivers objective, quantitative measurements of progress.
ASRS will be a software application available on mobile devices. It will analyse the patients motor movements and uttered speech as they works through prescribed exercises. Based on a new technology this complex input signal will be analysed to grade the patient’s performance and identify patterns of struggle and success. This data will provide both real-time feedback to the patient to improve possible errors and reports to the speech pathologist.
