How is our campus supplied with energy and heat? And what makes the neighborhood climate-neutral? On April 24, 2025, visitors got a firsthand look on our Impact Energy Tour!

The Suurstoffi site is considered a model for climate-friendly urban development. It shows how sustainable neighborhoods already work today. At the same time, it is a real-world laboratory for research and experimentation.

What awaited visitors:

  • Tour of the campus
    They learned about the idea behind the Suurstoffi site and how the neighborhood came into being—and how it now serves as a real-world laboratory for sustainable mobility.
  • Energy input with Dominik Kathriner (Head of Operational Site Management, Zug Estates)
    You could see how the neighborhood is supplied with energy and heat: through an energy network, a geothermal probe field, heat pumps, and photovoltaic systems.
