Biography
Siri Peyer is an arts scholar. She has been with Postdisciplinary Art Research since 2015. There she worked on two research projects: "What Can Art do? On the Relevance of Politically Engaged Art since 1960" (2015–2019) and "Collecting the Ephemeral. Requirements for, and Potential of, Including Performance Art in Collections" (2019–2023). In 2023, she completed her dissertation "Post/koloniale Verstrickungen: Der Fall Renzo Martens und die Grenzen der Kunstwissenschaft" (2005) at HafenCity University in Hamburg. In it, she outlines what art history looks like when its coordinates are determined ‘from within art’ and what potential this holds for the interpretation of controversial artistic positions.
Siri Peyer works at the intersection of art history, cultural studies and artistic research, and researches and publishes on socially and politically engaged art, performance art, artistic research and the field of art.
