This fundamental course in statistics provides an introduction to the key statistical methods and concepts to students, PhD students and research associates alike. They will develop a solid understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics, including topics such as means, variance, correlation and regression, as well as the fundamentals of probability theory, with the focus being on practical applications of data analysis and of statistical software tools.
In this course, which emphasises practice-based exercises and use cases, participants learn to collect, process and analyse data. The aim is for them to develop a solid understanding of statistical processes and to acquire the skills required to independently use the associated methods in various academic and professional contexts.
