Mapping Otherwise: Food, Land and Agroecological Futures
Donnerstag, 5. November 2026
12:00 - 13:15 (MESZ / Mitteleuropa)
4:30 pm - 5:45 pm (IST / India)
The talk explores how inter- and transdisciplinary approaches can weave scientific and artistic practices together to assess agroecological performance and imagine possible futures. Moving from the High Atlas Mountains and the wider SWANA region to projects on nutrient cycling in South Africa, it reflects on what happens when we move within and beyond science. Through the tensions, possibilities and wishes that emerge between disciplines, practices and places, the talk asks how we might cultivate knowledge differently, and make space for plural ways of knowing and imagining agroecological futures.
Kenza Benabderrazik (Dr. Sc. & Ing.) is a Moroccan-born researcher, educator, and facilitator of art–science encounters exploring food, water, land, and the politics of care. As Senior Lecturer and Outreach Coordinator at ETH Zürich’s Sustainable Agroecosystems Group, she works at the intersections of agroecology, political ecology, employing decolonial feminist, and collective knowledge-making practices. Her research focuses on agroecological transitions across Africa. Through publications, teaching, exhibitions, and the SAE Greenhouse Art-Lab, she cultivates spaces where scientific, artistic and community practices, converge to nurture more just and regenerative futures.
