A hotel in the future should deliver multiple functions for the benefit of the local community. Besides aiming to be managed sustainably, hotels in the future need to adress the needs of the local community more closely.

Overview

The project explored the question of what the hotel of tomorrow should look like, what tasks and services it will take on and how social aspects in particular can be given greater consideration. Through more innovative use, hotels could make a contribution to sustainable (regional) development beyond their operations. Following a workshop with tourism stakeholders, retail and public services, possible service modules were identified that are suitable for generating additional revenue in the hotel industry and that contribute to sustainability and innovation in a rural and regional context. The project developed possible standard usage concepts for a follow-up project.
