Specialised Databases Provide a good overview of current specialist knowledge in practice, the media and universities

Specialised databases are the right tool for searching for articles from journals and chapters from anthologies. A distinction is made between full-text and reference databases:

  • Full-text databases offer direct access to the entire text (e.g. PDF).
  • Reference databases only show the title, abstract and source; the full text must then be obtained (e.g. via the swisscovery search portal).

The Database Information System (DBIS) lists all specialist databases and portals that are freely available or licensed by the HSLU.

The licensed databases of the HSLU School of Business are listed in the DBIS.

We recommend databases such as WISO and EconBiz for your search of specialised journals and German-language scientific literature. Business Source Premier and Web of Science are also reliable sources for an in-depth literature search.

In addition to literature databases, there are also data-centred databases licensed to the HSLU. In ORBIS, you can find coprorate data. Statista contains comprehensive industry reports as well as a wide range of data from various surveys.

APA PsycArticles is an exellent choice for specilised articles from the field of psychology.
