Biography
Fernando Obieta (*1990) is a new-media artist, interaction designer, and creative technologist. He is a practice-based PhD candidate in media theory at the University of Art and Design Linz – supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr.phil. Gloria Meynen (Linz) and Prof. Dr. Rachel Mader (HSLU). He has studied Transdisciplinary Studies in the Arts and Interaction Design at Zurich University of the Arts and Media Technology. His artistic work and research focus on the critique and reflection of (digital) media, artefacts, systems, services and solutions and how they’re biased and situated. He works at the intersection of concept, design, art, and technology, focusing on prototype development.
Artistic/Research associate at Digital Ideation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Art & Design. Founder and president of the VoteLog – a freely accessible open-source web platform to contextualise the representative part of Swiss democracy. Initiator of the so-da.space offsite space in Zürich for cultural actors and artists.
