Energy and Environment Solving energy problems

Graduates of the Energy and Environment profile are experts in the field of energy technology with a specific focus on renewable energies. They develop effective and resource-efficient processes and address issues around conventional and renewable energy provision in a holistic fashion, always considering economic, legal and social aspects when implementing solutions.

Over the course of the program, MSE students conduct applied research, carry out development projects and benefit from using cutting-edge tools and technologies in the process. In the field of Energy and Process Engineering, MSE students learn how to design, model, realize and operate complex systems and efficient processes for the conversion, storage, provision and use of energy. In Environmental Engineering, students study the analysis, planning and implementation of measures related to environmental issues concerning air, water and soil and search for technical solutions to minimize the environmental impact of exhaust fumes, waste water and waste.

Career profile

The Master of Science and, with it, its Energy and Environment profile, is a consecutive study program and contingent on the prior completion of a Bachelor program or equivalent degree in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Energy or Environmental Engineering. Fundamental knowledge in Higher Mathematics, Science and engineering subjects such as Mechanics, Materials Science, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics is a key requirement for the successful completion of a MSE program. Applications by prospective students with a different academic background will be considered under certain conditions.

There is an ever-increasing international focus on energy efficiency and intelligent applications. Graduates of the Energy and Environment profile are perfectly equipped for this particular field. They have a wide range of career options. You will find employment as a project engineer, project head or senior employee in research and development, in the mechanical and process industry or in the energy sector.
