Older people have interesting stories to tell. Talking about their personal stories with others helps to maintain their self-confidence and self-esteem and keeps them socially and cognitively active and connected.
But we don't just see a benefit for the people who tell their stories. It is also valuable for others to hear the authentic stories. "HiStory" also promotes true "participatory democracy" in documenting our heritage.
