Applied Mechanics Complex mechanical problems are our passion

The Competence Centre Mechanical Systems tackles complex mechanical issues, including modelling, computer simulations and laboratory tests.

There are many subject areas in the field of applied mechanics. The Mechanical Systems Competence Centre focuses on the following:

Werkstoffprüfung, ein Werkstoff unter dem Mikroskop

Material Testing

The Mechanical Systems Competence Centre uses modern equipment to test the static and dynamic strength of materials and components. To further investigate the causes of corrosion, wear or other types of failure, the materials are analysed on the inside and the outside.

Rope Mechanics

Wire ropes are among the most efficient machine elements for tensile force transmission - light, high-strength and safe. The CC Mechanical Systems examines the mechanical behaviour of wire ropes in various applications.

Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics

Design, construction, stress analysis and qualification are the steps to serialisation: production and operation with appropriate maintenance, repairs and failure analysis. Concepts of fatigue and fracture mechanics affect all product phases and contribute to sustainable success.

Präzisionsmechanik

Precision Mechanics

Mechanisms, instruments and devices that implement complex movements and transport media with the highest precision. The mechatronic systems skillfully implement actuators and sensors.

Strukturmechanik

Structural Mechanics

Whether static or dynamic, we use analytical, numerical and experimental methods to develop stiffness- or strength-compliant and safe solution proposals for a wide range of applications in mechanical engineering.
