Research never happens in a vacuum. It is situated, typically bound to an institution, conducted by specialists and always shaped by the prevailing culture. This context is shaping all our questions and answers. In our research, we use the situatedness of our perspective to our advantage: it allows us to establish a connection between specific constellations and the overarching discourse. Examples include situating motherhood between the poles of personal experience, politics and gender studies, or rethinking the relationship between human and machine from both sides.
