Working and studying Combining your studies with a professional activity

The Master’s programme has a truly unique feature in that its flexible design helps students to balance the needs of their personal life with those of their work life.

Start in autumn or spring

You can start your studies either in the autumn or spring semester. This ensures that you can always get your degree in four semesters.

Flexible period of 4 to 8 semesters

You can complete your studies within 4 semesters or extend them for up to 8 semesters, depending on your work situation and other commitments. The modules are offered every semester.

Credit from work experience

If you work professionally in a field typically related to applied data science and can document that your work relates closely to the topics covered in your courses, you can have some of your professional experience converted into credits to apply towards your degree.

Attendance schedule makes part-time employment possible

Classes are currently scheduled on Thursday and Friday. Starting in the autumn semester of 2021, classes will alternate between on-site and online teaching. On-site classes will be held in fixed semester weeks and allow students and lecturers to exchange. In the remaining semester weeks, all teaching will take place online. Some core electives are offered as a block in the weeks between semesters when there are no regular classes.
