Information About the Admission Process Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programmes

We are pleased that you are interested in attending a degree programme at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The following information will help you to enrol for your course.

Application procedure

You can only complete your application online. You may interrupt the process at any time and resume it later without losing the information you have already entered. 
Fields with an asterisk (*) are required fields.
Please complete your application within the next thirty days or by the registration deadline. After this period, your information will be deleted.

Following your definite application, we will appraise it and get in touch via email or by telephone.

Login / SWITCH edu-ID

You will need a SWITCH edu-ID for the application process. If you do not have a SWITCH edu ID yet, you can create one during the application process. Please make sure to use your private e-mail address.

 

Documents

Over the course of the application process, you will be asked to upload various documents. You will need to submit them as PDF files.

If one or more of your documents consists of multiple separate PDFs, please upload them consecutively. The application will automatically merge them into a single document. If you delete one of the documents, the entire composite file will be deleted.

How to Create a PDF File

Depending on your programme of choice, you will need to provide the following information and documents:

  • Swiss social security number
  • Personal photo (portrait, no other persons or objects)
  • Swiss matriculation number
  • University admission qualifying certificate
  • Swiss "Notice of removal from the register of students"
  • National ID card, passport and residency permit

The following information, backed by the relevant references, diplomas and certificates, must be submitted:

  • Academic qualifications
  • Professional activity
  • Internships
  • Language skills

Enrolment fee

The enrolment fee is to be paid directly with the registration.

You may pay your enrolment fee using a PostFinance Card (debit card), TWINT, a credit card (Mastercard or VISA) or PostFinance Mastercard® Value. Once the payment goes through, PostFinance will send you a confirmation of payment via email. If you pay by credit card on the website via payment service providers PostFinance or SIX, your surname, first name, address, post code, city, email address and credit card information will be forwarded to both your credit card issuer and credit card acquirer. If you decide to pay by credit card, you will be prompted to enter all the information required for the transaction.
The transfer and sharing of your personal data takes place in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss data protection legislation or the EU GDPR. If the EU GDPR applies, the legal basis is the fulfilment of a contract (art. 6, para 1, lit b of the EU GDPR). To learn more about the processing of your credit card information by these third parties, we advise you to also consult the terms and conditions and privacy policy of your credit card issuer.

Data transmission

A secure connection featuring SSL encryption is automatically invoked when the online registration platform is being used.

By contrast, information communicated to us by email is transmitted unencrypted, that is, it can be viewed and modified by third parties. The transmission of confidential or personal information by email is at the sender's risk.
