Every year creative, entrepreneurial and scientific projects in the area of food and nutrition data are selected and supported on their way from the first idea to market readiness by providing new open data, intense coaching, mentorship and financial support.
Activities
For this purpose three main activities are being pursued:
- Creating a platform with open food data
- Prototyping new solutions during our Hackdays
- Scaling promising open food data projects
Open Food Data
At the "Open Food Data Hackdays" they invite engineers, designers, agricultural and nutrition experts, entrepreneurs and students to jointly develop new solutions for a transparent, efficient, and innovative food industry based on open food data.

For the Hackdays in Lausanne you have to pay a deposit of CHF 100,
which will be refunded after attending the event:

For the Hackdays in Basel we ask you to write a 200 word
motivation statement:

Program
- 9:30 am, first day – collecting project ideas and forming teams
- 10:15 am, first day – working in teams on prototypes
- 3:00 pm, second day – selecting the most promising solutions
Incubation
The most promising projects of the Open Food Hackdays
will be incubated for 3-9 months,
receiving support depending on their needs, such as:
- Financial Support
- Workspace & Infrastructure
- Connection to relevant business and industry players
- Mentorship & coaching tailored to your needs
from experienced tech & business individuals, including:

data sets being added on a regular basis and we also welcome
projects that aim to gather new valuable data. If you own or
