Researching with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Why collaboration is beneficial

Through its research activities, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is an important and reliable partner for SMEs, federations/associations and public authorities. Its research projects are practically oriented and innovative.

The success of the research conducted at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is founded on sound research practice as well as a strong interdisciplinary and applied focus. That is why the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a valuable partner for SMEs, public sector bodies and cultural institutions alike. The developed solutions form the basis for new ideas and concepts and strengthen the competitiveness of the university’s partners and of Central Switzerland as an innovation hub.

Researchers at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts are renowned for their wealth of practical experience and are well-connected with the national and international science community. Since 2018, their skills are being bundled in two cross-School collaboration projects, the Interdisciplinary Clusters (ICs) for “Spatial Development and Social Cohesion” and “Digital Transformation of the Working World”.

Through its interdisciplinary doctoral colloquia, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts provides continuing education in epistemology and methodology and creates networking opportunities for research associates. In addition, the Grants Office has been providing advice on matters related to national and international research funding since 2019. 

The research activity at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts also helps shape cutting-edge education in Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes and in continuing and executive education. 

The Standing Committee on Research and Development coordinates the related activities and knowledge sharing among Schools.
