Research and Development Exploring relevant issues

The School of Social Work pursues a dual strategy in its research activities that specifically promotes application-oriented basic research and applied research and development.

The research conducted at the School of Social Work focuses on current social challenges. In their applied research, specialists develop projects in co-operation with authorities, social institutions and the public sector. That is how we contribute to the development of social services, organisational processes and social participation. Our research activities in the field of nursing sciences are currently in development.

Interdisciplinarity

We have been promoting inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration between the HSLU’s Schools for many years. The focal points of our School in this area include age, diversity and equity. Learn more here.
