Overview
In this interdiscplinary project, we have investigated several digital options for the Swiss franc - Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), Stablecoins and combinations thereof. With the aim of SNB to always have cash as an option, the digitalisation and tokenisation of the payment world cannot be ignored. We investigated social, economic, legal, as well as political aspects that the introduction of a form of a digital franc in Switzerland would have.
