Overview
Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is conducting research on alternative approaches to spatially effective action on behalf of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (BAK). The collection aims to help identify current and future means and methods of spatial development.
The research is carried out through systematic online document searches and a Europe-wide survey among experts from practice, academia, and journalism. It focuses on concrete examples, particularly from the fields of spatial, urban, and local development as well as housing supply and regulation, which have been developed or planned in the past approximately 5 to 10 years and could shape the future of our designed living environment.
We consider alternative approaches to be those projects, processes, or instruments that were novel or experimental at the time of their development or implementation. They operate outside conventional, routine, or formalized building culture practices and/or complement them.
