Overview
This project aims to co-create a sustainable social business model for an innovative hydrogen-based cooking solution in rural Nepal. Building on prior initiatives by HSLU, it addresses economic challenges to scale hydrogen stove adoption, reducing deforestation, minimizing indoor air pollution, fostering gender equality, and utilizing surplus electricity from local microhydro plants. Through action research and inclusive stakeholder engagement, supported by a multi-criteria decision model, the project will develop a draft social business model and achieve stakeholder-driven validation. Contributing to renewable energy systems and energy communities, it aligns with Swiss and international energy strategies while enhancing health, sustainability, and local economies in Nepal.
