Overview

HSLU contributes to achieving Swiss climate targets as part of the federal government's SWEET funding program (SWiss Energy research for the Energy Transition) of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). Researchers from the three Departments of Business, Engineering & Architecture and Social Work are developing solutions under the guiding theme of “Living and Working” that are intended to bring forward the Swiss Energy Strategy 2050. Research activities with HSLU members linked to the two consortia, SWICE and LANTERN have been running in parallel the last 2 years. So far, no deep exchange has been envisaged. However, the members of SFOE SWEET, including the HSLU project partners have an eased and special access to the funding scheme “Pilot and Demonstration (P+D) programme” of the SFOE. Based on a Carte Blanche-project the HSLU SWEET researchers will a) synchronize their research methodologies, b) develop common research framework and questions in the domain of climate/energy districts (“Klimaquartiere” Lucerne), superblocks, 15-minute city, city-logistics, c) identify promising constellations and cases for the P+D program, d) and identify stakeholders and partners for writing a joint P+D proposal (with co-funding stemming from the partners).
