Overview

FIT4GRID focuses on technical aspects of the electrification of freight vehicles and logistic centres and their optimal grid integration. These include technical aspects related to depot design, sizing the grid connection, establishing charging infrastructure in current depots considering operation schedule of electric freight vehicle (EFV) fleets. Furthermore, managing energy and load requirements, exploring self-generation and energy consumption, and highlighting the importance of charging infrastructure for the electrical grid will be investigated. Finally, the potential of harvesting flexibility from EFVs to offer services at a logistic site and to the grid will be explored. The research will be conducted closely with related stakeholders and need owners such as DSOs and E-Trucks operators.
