Overview
In four training weeks in Bukavu, about 16 freelance coaches are trained. The Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation (Swisscontact) has developed an apprenticeship system in these regions with craft enterprises. Young people from marginalised groups can complete an apprenticeship in various trades. The trained coaches accompany these groups for nine months and support them in their search for work and in setting up small businesses. A first batch of coaches was trained 2020 and 2021, a second batch of 18 coaches finished their training in summer 2024.
