In order to counter this contradiction of increasing demand and scarce supply, only regionally integrated, prevention-oriented, well-networked and digitized healthcare systems can be effective in the medium term. A well-founded, scientific analysis of the success factors of various models of regional coordination and digital integration of healthcare is still lacking for Switzerland.
