Overview

The aim of EVCELL is to establish a social engagement lab focused and eMobility service models at the Swiss museum of transport in order to connect energy science (and its disciplines), society and the territorial articulation of Switzerland, with the ambition to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption (both fossil and renewable), through efficiency measures, and to transfer and replicate the know-how, tools and solutions developed by scientists and into Swiss society.

EVCELL will include local communities, public authorities, and the private sector in the energy transition through participative science with the goal of adopting zero emission transportation. The project will analyze aggregation forms and participation incentives, using agent-based modeling and implementing initiatives within the Swiss Museum of Transport.

The project explores the contexts and mechanisms to support stakeholders’ (e.g., users, grid operators, energy providers, etc.) acceptance and willingness to engage in a smart energy system and adopt new forms of sustainable mobility. Through the living lab, we will assess the potential which lies in combining technological and user behavioural data to impact sustainability and resiliency (i.e., flexibility potential, efficiency & sufficiency). The project will help design and evaluate contexts and mechanisms to increase acceptance and willingness of users to engage in the smart energy systems.
