AAL4All

Extension of an existing smart home solution with the aim of enabling elderly people to live longer in their own homes. The system is enhanced with sensors that detect activities of daily living. It notifies a relative in the event of conspicuous abnormalities

Overview

The solution is based on commercially available smart home devices, which will be combined on a new platform to extend the benefits.

The new system uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to learn about the elderly person's daily routine. If activities of daily living suddenly deviate greatly from the usual pattern, a relative can be notified so they can ask if help is needed. By using AI, the number of false messages is greatly reduced compared to non-learning systems.

The modular system is operated with commercially available smartphones or tablets.

Through this system, it is achieved that relatives can care for their loved ones with less effort and longer without professional assistance. This leads to a reduction in costs.

In addition, the system reduces concern for the elderly person's well-being, both for the relatives and the person themselves.

The system also provides support for professional care organizations.
