Overview
Research project about how to tear-down a TomTom Start25 GPS device for forensic data retrieval: how to hook into the Linux hardware and system, how to read out memory from memory devices, how to retrieve and dump data and to reconstruct the file system in a forensic way. The project has found new ways how to retrieve storage data from the embedded device with bypassing the device operating system. It uses physical probing of the external memory device to read out the file system information which then can be further analyzed.
