Overview
Muoniverse is a new Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR), a major initiative that uses muons (heavy cousins of electrons) to explore the hidden structures of materials in completely non-destructive ways. Building on the world-leading muon facility at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI, the project unites universities, industry, and museums to push advances in fields ranging from quantum technologies and renewable energy to archaeology and cultural heritage. By connecting science, engineering, and the arts, Muoniverse will develop new methods, train the next generation of researchers, and create unique opportunities for the public to engage with cutting-edge research.
The project at HSLU aims to establish und run the Muoniverse Innovation Platform which coordinates knowledge and technology transfer into broader applications through guided ideation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. It serves as an information hub for innovation offers, connects members to partner tech-transfer and entrepreneurship programs, and supports early onboarding, coaching, workshops, and seed-funding readiness. It fosters an inclusive innovation community, enables two-way collaboration with industry, and continuously monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of all innovation measures to improve the program over time.
