Embodied Energy Characteristic Values of Building Technology Systems and Components (HVAC)

In this project the embodied energy characteristic values of building technology systems will be defined. These values should complement available instruments and highlight optimization potentials concerning the embodied energy during the design phase.

Overview

Building technology systems contribute to a high proportion of the embodied energy of buildings. Nevertheless, today there is still a lack of reliable LCA data for their consideration. In this project and based on existing studies, the embodied energy characteristics values of building technoolgy systems will be defined. These values should complement available instruments (i.e. KBOB-recommendation and SIA MB 2032), and highlight optimization potentials and possibilities concerning the embodied energy during design phase.
