To request items in swisscovery RZS, you must log into the library research gateway with your SWITCH edu-ID.
You will then be able to click «borrow» next to your item of choice. In the next step, you will be asked to name a pick-up location. Various libraries in the Region of Central Switzerland (RZS) are eligible as pick-up locations.
As soon as the medium is ready to be picked up, the library you have chosen as your pick-up location will send you a pick-up notification by email. The medium is on hold for you for one week on in the pick-up shelf. If not picked up within this week the book will be released for other users.
Please borrow the items from the self-pick-up shelf at the self-checkout station or at the information desk before leaving the library.
Books: 4 weeks
Films (DVDs): 2 weeks
Provided the item is not reserved by another user, the loan period is automatically extended. You can also extend the loan period yourself in your library account in swisscovery RZS.
- Reminder: free of charge (sent by email at the end of the loan period)
- 1st overdue notice: CHF 5.– per item (total CHF 5.–)
- 2nd overdue notice: CHF 5.– per item (total CHF 10.–)
- 3rd overdue notice: CHF 10.– per item (total CHF 20.–)
After the third unsuccessful overdue notice, the loss procedure will be initiated (see below).
