With Nature Day, the HSLU is launching a pilot project designed to bring together students and employees from across its Schools and departments. Together, they help the City of Lucerne and the Pro Natura preservation organization with hay making and autumn mowing while discovering nature in front of their doorstep.
The event offers encounters, a change of perspective and a sense of belonging away from campus. People who ordinarily might never meet at the university get to know each during a few amazing hours out in nature. At the same time, they will discover local ecosystems and get the chance to promote biodiversity with their own hands.
By helping nature together, volunteers can experience sustainability, community and social responsibility first-hand.
The half-day event is open to all students and employees at the HSLU.
