Veronika Jana Lubert is Professor of Musicians’ Health at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Music. She previously conducted research and taught in social and sport psychology at the University of Vienna, with fellowships leading her to the Swedish School of Sports and Health Sciences and the Royal Northern College of Music. With degrees in psychology and violin performance as well as training in various coaching methods, Veronika Jana Lubert works as a psychological coach for musicians and is also active as a violinist. Musicians’ health is a central concern in her work, as psychological and physical challenges are often closely intertwined. Her own experiences in the world of classical music – including orchestra tours, freelance projects, and auditions – have repeatedly shown her how essential mental training, psychological strategies, and somatic practices are for coping with the demands of a professional music career.
At the Lucerne School of Music, she develops innovative concepts to promote wellbeing and mental strength in music education. She combines academic expertise with practical insight and follows an interdisciplinary approach. Her aim is to make a sustainable contribution to music and health research and to transfer scientific knowledge into practical applications that directly benefit musicians in their training, performance, and long-term health.
