Biography
As Technical Director at knippershelbig Stuttgart, Dr. Thiemo Fildhuth is in charge of structural glass, bonding and metal/steel construction. After studying architecture and civil engineering and working in international engineering firms, he completed his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart on the topic of curved glass and sensor technology. He joined knippershelbig in 2015 and has since been responsible for numerous complex international projects with a focus on load-bearing glass, steel construction and French-speaking countries.
Since 2019, he is assistant professor (Dozent) in the field of civil engineering / building envelope at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) in Switzerland, where he is also responsible as head of the building envelope study program. Thiemo Fildhuth is a member of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Engineers and represents knippershelbig in the Association for Glass Construction (Fachverband Konstruktiver Glasbau FKG), where he is also responsible for the research group on curved glass.
