Biography
After completing his high school education, Diponker Karmoker pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), graduating in 2021. He then earned a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from IIT Roorkee, India, with exchange semesters at ESTP Paris, France and HSLU, Switzerland. Since 2025, he has been pursuing a PhD in Chemistry and Molecular Science at the University of Zurich (UZH), focusing on micro & nanoscale imaging, spectroscopy, and environmental sustainability.
From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Karmoker worked on research projects in CO2 sequestration and direct air capture, collaborating with IIT Roorkee and HSLU. He has contributed to international conferences, including the 14th International Conference on Industrial Computed Tomography and the American Chemical Society DAC. His research integrates advanced imaging techniques, computational modeling, and material characterization to optimize carbon capture, heat storage, and thermal processes.
In addition to his academic career, he gained industry experience as a Field Engineer at JAKS International Limited, overseeing construction projects and quality control. He has received multiple scholarships, including full funding for his postgraduate studies and an ESTP Paris exchange scholarship.
Since 2024, Mr. Karmoker has been engaged in interdisciplinary research on thermal and environmental engineering, working with Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 capture and R&D in heat and mass transfer systems. His expertise spans digital image processing and material classification, contributing to innovations in sustainable energy and environmental engineering.
