The Intercantonal Council is composed of one member of each government of the six central Swiss cantons, Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and Zug. Its duties include selecting the chairperson of the Governing Council and its other members and approving the four-year mandate, budget, annual report and annual financial statement of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The Intercantonal Council is currently composed of the following cantonal councillors representing their governments:
