Interdisciplinary research, teaching and learning are among the HSLU’s core activities and championed by the university since 2009. This commitment culminated in the establishment of an inter- and transdisciplinarity hub of national and international renown over the past decades. The programme is continuously being further developed to address key societal needs and challenges.

The Interdisciplinary Networks (IDN)

The HSLU has been promoting inter- and transdisciplinarity for many years. The Interdisciplinary Networks (IDN) at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) exemplify cross-disciplinary collaboration. They are actively engaged in research on topics such as integrated spatial development, health, and other future-oriented fields. Learn more here.

Degree Programmes

Interdisciplinary Study Programmes (ISA)

The HSLU offers a wide range of interdisciplinary education and continuing education programmes. Among these is the ISA Programme (Interdisciplinary Studies Programme), which is offered jointly with the University of Lucerne and the PH Luzern. New programmes are continuously developed to meet the evolving needs of society, students, and continuing education participants.

We transform complex data into clear, interactive visualizations, providing the foundation for evidence-based, transparent, and impactful decisions. Our interdisciplinary team brings together expertise in urban and regional development, data science, interactive design, social research, and data visualization, enabling us to address complex challenges from multiple perspectives and create meaningful insights for stakeholders and decision-makers.
