The federal talent promotion programme for highly gifted young musicians has been implemented by several cantons, among them the Canton of Lucerne.
The promotion programme has four tiers: Basis, Aufbau I, Aufbau II and Pre-College to meet young musicians with high potential where they are. The different tiers are flexible and ensure progression to the next level. Students admitted to the preparatory studies or preparatory course in the framework of the Lucerne of Music’s Pre-College or to the talent promotion (TMLU) scheme are automatically registered for participation in the «Junge Talente Musik» talent promotion programme. This under the condition that the Federal Office of Culture recognises – as it does in the case of Lucerne – the musical talent promotion scheme of the student’s canton of residence.
