Admission criteria for the entrance exam to the preparatory studies:
Academic or vocational baccalaureate or equivalent certificate. In exceptional cases, candidates with extraordinary artistic talent may be exempt from the requirement of a completed upper secondary-level education («sur dossier» admission).
At least two years of residence in a Swiss canton before the start of Pre-College. Candidates living abroad are not eligible for the state-funded preparatory studies.
26 years or younger (exceptions can be made)
Unlike the preparatory studies, the preparatory course is open to students who are enrolled concurrently in another state-funded education programme (see the preparatory course admission requirements).
The language of instruction is German. It is the pre-college students’ own responsibility to ensure they can follow the instruction. German language skills at level B1 are recommended.
Candidates wishing to attend the «B» option of the preparation studies (theory classes only) may do so without sitting an entrance exam.
