All workplaces taken in your library? Check if there are any available in other locations.
In total, there are 80 workplaces with power sockets available. They cannot be booked in advance and are restricted to silent working.
There are various workplaces available for silent revising and working, as are some large desks, a sofa corner, window workplaces and standing desk spaces. The library does not provide space for group work! It is possible to work in front of the library in the break area or outside lunchtime in House B in the self-catering area (2nd floor) & bistro (Ground floor). For our students the walk-in space on the 2nd floor (House A) and the project workstations on the 4th floor (House B) are also available.
Thanks to the “seat navigator", you can always check if there are any free places - and how many there are - in your library.
You can find lockers in House A and use them without having to sign up anywhere. Students who did not bring their own padlock may get one for a deposit from the reception desk on the ground floor.
To copy, you will need a photocopy card with credit.
You may use your HSLU-Card, your CampusCard or your old Lucerne ZHB user card as a photocopy card. Users without a card refer to the information desk. There are top-up stations on the second floor of House A (HSLU-CARD) and at the ZHB’s Sepmacherstrasse location (ZHB/Uni-Card).
The following charges will be deducted from your card for printouts/copies:
You need a photocopy card with credit and a USB stick. The document must be saved as a PDF or jpeg file.
The name oft he library’s multifunction device is «print_public_i». You can find manuals for FollowMe Printing as well as for printing at HSLU in general here (HSLU login necessary):
To scan, you will also need a photocopy card with credit. You may save your scan on a USB stick or (if you are a HSLU member) send it to yourself via email.
There is a mobile book scanner in the photocopy room that you can use without having to borrow any items. You will have to install a specific piece of software. Find an explanatory video here.
