The forthcoming IGHEM conference will provide a forum for engineers from industry and research establishments to present new results, to exchange ideas and to discuss directions of future developments.
The conference will be organized by Thomas Staubli, HSLU, with the support of the IGHEM committee.

Registration and Fees
Conference fee CHF 500.- before June 30, 2026
Conference fee CHF 600.- after July 1, 2026
Student fee CHF 200.-
The conference fee includes meals, refreshments, and participation in conference events.
Accompanying persons CHF 150.- (includes icebreaker, banquet and technical tour)

The conference will be focused on the experimental, theoretical and computational approaches enhancing measurements in hydro power plants, including, but not limited to.

- Case studies of efficiency measurements of hydropower plants and hydro systems
- Unit management and plant monitoring for best efficiency operation
- Site testing as decision making tool for old plants
- Efficiency and hydraulic behavior prediction by CFD analysis and/or model testing
- Measurements related to hydro-abrasive erosion
- Sediment handling and measurement
- Instrumentation and calibration of testing devices
- Acoustic and dilution methods for flow rate measurements
- Current meter and velocity area methods
- Pressure time and differential pressure methods
- Thermodynamic method and new efficiency measuring techniques

The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture HSLU T&A is located a five-minute walk from the Horw train station. A direct train from Lucerne to Horw leaves every quarter hour and takes seven minutes.
